Destin - Part I

We spent a week in a condo that was across the street from the beach with my sister and her family.  We had a great time!  This post will tell our entire vacation story.

We left home on June 13th.  It took us 15 hours to get there.  At almost 23 weeks pregnant, sitting all day in a car was not a comfortable experience.   But we survived the day and pulled into the garage at the condo around 11pm.

June 14th - We decided to head to the beach to check things out.  We did not go armed with chairs or umbrellas or anything of the sort.  I did take my giant keg of water, however at that time I had still not found the filtered water in the fridge.  After one drink of that water that came out of the faucet I poured the entire thing out on the sand.  It was the most disgusting thing that I had ever tasted.  But the kids had a great time playing at the beach.DSC_0074

I am pretty sure that this is when I burned my leg and foot with too much sun.  It was really hot!!

After the beach, we went to the pool.  We headed back to the room to clean up for lunch.  Since we had still not been to the store we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise.  I should have enjoyed this more, as this would be one of the few times that I did not have to eat at a seafood restaurant.  The rest of the day was spent at the store, walking around a little, and driving to find a place to eat.  We ended up at our first seafood restaurant of the week.  Luckily, we sat outside so I did not have to smell the place.  This would be where Keeley discovered shrimp.

June 15th - We started out the day again at the beach.  This time we went a little more prepared with chairs, umbrellas, and toys.  The kids had a great time!!DSC_0090

Then we went to the Wharf.  They have a bunch of shops and restaurants.  The kids even jumped on a trampoline where Addy managed to connect her mouth to her leg and knock out a tooth.

After that we went to a store where we painted some pottery.  The kids all worked together to make a present for grandma.  Nathan and I painted a pitcher.

We stayed there for dinner and a magic show.
