I can't believe my little guy is 4. I never knew how much you could love something until the day you were born. You were 8 pounds 11 ounces when you were born. (Not so little!!) You were this little thing that we had waited for our entire lives, our first born.
first tooth, your first word, your first step, there were so many firsts to remember. And then we no longer kept track of how many months old you were, because now you were one year old.
Then came your second birthday. You just turned one, how could it be time for you to be two? There is no more crib, just a toddler bed. But when did you go from a baby to a toddler? You started taking naps at daycare on a nap mat. The first day I did not know how they were going to be able to contain you to that mat. But what a big boy you were.
And then you were three. I did not think you were ever going to use the potty. But you did when you were ready. You moved into your own big boy room with a big boy bed. You started going to Cubbies at church this year and did such a fabulous job with memorizing your bible verses. You even had your first visit to the dentist. And you even started preschool this year. You learned tons there about writing your letters and numbers.
Now you are four. You tell me that you are a big boy. You can use the potty. You are getting the hang of dressing your self. You can brush your teeth. You can even work the DVD player by yourself. You know your letters, colors, shapes, and numbers. You are even starting to do addition. Some days I think that I have the smartest child in the world. You make me laugh every day. You insist on doing everything yourself. You love trains, cars, movies, the Wii, baseball, the beach, and swimming. You are total BOY!! And when you love something you love it deeply. I hope that continues. And oh how I am grateful that you still want to cuddle mommy every night. I know those days will come to end, though I pray it is not too soon. We have one more year before you go to kindergarten and there are so many new things in store for you this year. The biggest two will be starting Pre-K and becoming a big brother! Just don't grow up to soon! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!
