Wednesday morning we got up at 3:30. We took off for the volcano to see the sunrise. The road up was insane. It was curvy, and once you get into the state park there are not any guardrails. The sight was just amazing. Not to mention at 10,000 feet it was pretty darn cold. The temperature was probably in the 30's. After the sunrise we headed back down and had breakfast.
We came home and we were going to take a nap, but the boys did not want any part of that. So we put on our swimsuits and headed to Big Beach. Ashley and I did some reading on the beach while the boys did some wave riding and snorkeling. After a few hours we had to head back to get dressed for the luau.
The luau was so much fun. There were people creating traditional hawaiian crafts. It was right on the beach. The boys watched them prepare the pig. There was a ton of food. Although most of it was a bit strange. And there was tons of dancing. The boys were trying to figure out how to move their hips the way the dancers did. I don't think they will figure that out anytime soon.
