Happy Birthday Garrett!

Our little boy is now one year old. His birthday was on Saturday, the 24th. (Along with our 6th wedding anniversary.) Garrett was not feeling all that great but he was a good sport. We had about 30 people at our house. (I don't think our house was built for a party that large.) Garrett did want to help me open his presents, so I did it myself. We just have to find a place to put everything.

He sort of got into the cake. We still have it, so we may attempt again for more pictures. Ashley, Elaine, Krisita, and I worked a long time on Friday trying to get the cupcakes and the cake finished. Why I decided that we should make them all ourselves is beyond me. I think next year I will go for one of those store bought cakes. And we will probably have a smaller party. Just be sure to remind me that I said that when his next birthday comes around.

Justin and Nathan worked so hard on trying to get our backyard spruced up for the party. I will have to take pictures so everyone can see their great work. Except for the dead plants. I will be sure to replace those first.


We also had a surprise party for my dad's 70th birthday on Sunday. We had friends and family over for Spring Creek BBQ. It turned out great and we managed to keep him in the dark until he got home.


I am officially partied out. I have come out of the whole weekend with a sinus infection and pure exhaustion. Garrett was so tired that he went to bed at 6:45 last night without eating dinner. I think he woke up one time, but other than that he slept until 6 this morning.

This evening we have his one year checkup. He gets more shots and we will find out all his stats. We will also find out how often we have to go in to get his ears checked.
