Advice

If you ever want to expand your patio or do any decorative concrete overlay you can ask me before you do it. The headache is almost over. We had the overlay done last week and it looked so beautiful! Then it rained. Here start the problems. I had a different person pour the new slab than the one who did the overlay. That was my first mistake. Always best if you let the same person do it. Needless to say, the new slab moved after the torrentual downpour. Which then broke my overlay. This was not a hairline crack. (I could have lived with that.) This was an inch difference in the surface level that led to the peeling off of a 6 inch width of the overlay.

After many arguments it is being fixed. They are going to sawcut the two slabs apart and then fix the overlay. So the two slabs will not be connected. (The difference is really only an eighth of an inch.) But this tragedy should never occur again. Not sure if the slab will ever go back down, but anything is better than what I have now.

You never know. I may just start digging so the concrete will just fall back into place.

What a headache!!!
