April in review

This month has passed me by.  It takes me a while to update because I can't seem to get my camera software to work on my laptop correctly.  So, I have to download the pictures to the desktop and then move them to my laptop.  Anyway, here is the update...

April 5th I was in the heat of tax season, so IMG_3115while I was at work Nathan took G to the farm.  They even took G's tractor down there to ride on.

The next day we took G to Grapevine to see Thomas the Tank Engine.  Trying to explain to a 2 year old that we have to wait for everyone to get off the train before we can get on did not go so well.  He loved getting the ride the train.  One day we will have to find a longer train ride.

Garrett is extremely into trains these days. IMG_3119  He has a preschool train set that is motorized and he was trying to push his Thomas trains along the track.  So we packed up all the motorized stuff and got out his wooden set.  We still don't have enough room to get his train table out.  Besides, he loves to take the train track apart and put it back together.

On April 12th I turned 31.  For my birthday my parents took G for the weekend.  It was a great present!!  On that Friday night Nathan and I were able to go out to dinner without child.  It was extremely peaceful.  On my birthday Nathan took his band kids to a contest in Denton, so Ashley and I did some shopping.  To celebrate that evening we went to The Pocket Sandwich Theater to see a great popcorn throwing play.

While we were having a weekend to ourselves, Garrett was with my parents having the time of his life.  They took his to visit some of their friends in Henderson.   IMG_3130 He even showed us the fishing pole that grandpa bought for him.

April 19th we went to see the twins last soccer game.  Garrett screamed half the time because he wanted to be out there playing.  IMG_3132 Guess I have to do some work to try to find something around here for him to play in next year.  The girls played a great game even though they did not win.IMG_3149 Addy played with G after the game was over.  Maybe we can set up a soccer goal in the grandparents backyard.

That evening we took our annual Bluebonnet pictures.  We decided not to go to Ennis this year.  So we found a great field near Justin & Ashley's house.IMG_3162

April 25th I had IntraLASIK surgery.  I was a little apprehensive, but it went well.  The surgery was interesting.  They cut a flap with the laser.  I could not see anything while that was going on, but there was a lot of pressure on my eye from the device they were using to hold my eye open.  Then I could see the doctor moving the flap open that he had cut.  Then I had to stare at a red flashing light while another laser corrected my vision.  I could smell that one.  Yuck!  But now I have 20/20 vision.  It really was a great experience.

When my son came home that day, his teachers sent him home with a picture of what he IMG_3192had been wearing all day.   I had to take a new picture for more clarity.  I did not manage to get it off his head until bedtime.  See for yourself.
