Doctor Update Part 2

Friday morning Garrett woke up with a fever of 101. He was kinda puny and did not really want to eat anything. So I figured he was never going to make it through daycare. Seemed like a good day to stay with grandma. I called grandma to meet us at my office. On the way to the office Garrett throws up in the car. (This was not a fun car ride.) I call the pedi and talk to the triage nurse. She tells me to call back later when they open. I call later and talk to that nurse. She is going to ask the doctor what he wants to do. Mom shows up at the office. The nurse finally calls back and decides that we should come in. (This is where the fun begins.)

I get nothing new at the doctor visit. But the nurse practitioner does tell me that it looks like one of his tubes is trying to come out and that he has some kind of blood clot in his ear. She suggests we make an appointment with the ENT. Since we now have new insurance and no more referrals are necessary this is fabulous. And after rearranging everyone's schedules we manage to get an appointment with the ENT on Saturday morning. G has granuals of some kind in his ear which is causing the blood problem. So he prescribes ear drops with steroids. He also prescribes augmentin. The last time G was on this antibiotic he got a yeast infection. I can't wait for the fun times that are ahead. WE go back to the ENT in 3-4 weeks to get his ear and tube checked again.
